Inconel Seamless Pipes Manufacturer in Thailand

Three product standards divide the family between them. ASTM B167 is the seamless pipe and tube specification for a group of nickel-chromium-iron and related alloys, and of our grades it governs UNS N06600 and UNS N06601, so any ASTM B167 seamless Inconel pipe on a line list is one of those two. ASTM B444 covers UNS N06625 and divides it into two grades by heat treatment, with Grade 1 supplied when an order names neither; an ASTM B444 seamless Inconel pipe should therefore state its grade. ASTM B983 covers UNS N07718 in the precipitation hardened condition. ASME SB-167 and ASME SB-444 are the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code counterparts of the first two, while B983 is quoted alone because it carries no ASME counterpart. All three product standards call up ASTM B829, Standard Specification for General Requirements for Nickel and Nickel Alloys Seamless Pipe and Tube, for permitted variations in diameter, wall and length, and B983 adds tables of its own for hot-finished product. None of the standards prints a trade name: each alloy is identified by its UNS number, and that number is what we enter on the mill certificate.

The per-length and per-lot tests listed in the table are reported on the EN 10204 3.1 (3.2 on request) certificate. It travels with raw material certificates, positive material identification of every length, heat treatment charts and records of surface roughness and dimensional checks, and a third-party inspector can be brought in when the order asks for one.

Inconel 600, 601, 625 and 718 in Seamless Pipe Form

The four grades divide by duty. Inconel 600 and Inconel 601 are nickel-chromium-iron alloys built for heat and oxidation, Inconel 625 relies on molybdenum and niobium in a nickel-chromium base for corrosive media, and Inconel 718 is precipitation hardened for strength. Every seamless Inconel alloy pipe grade has its own page with chemistry, strength minimums and tolerances.

Inconel 600 Seamless Pipes
UNS N06600 / W.Nr. 2.4816

Inconel 600 Seamless Pipe

Inconel 600 is the nickel-chromium-iron base grade of the family. It resists oxidation, handles caustic, alkaline and organic acid streams and chlorinated solvents, and serves in furnace retorts and muffles. We make UNS N06600 seamless pipe to ASTM B167, where condition and diameter together set the strength minimums listed on Inconel 600 seamless pipes.

Inconel 601 Seamless Pipes
UNS N06601 / W.Nr. 2.4851

Inconel 601 Seamless Pipe

Inconel 601 adds aluminum to the nickel-chromium-iron base, which helps its oxide layer resist scaling in thermal processing: radiant tubes, petrochemical heater coils and hot process streams. ASTM B167 covers it too, with one set of strength minimums valid at all sizes, hot-worked annealed or cold-worked annealed; see Inconel 601 seamless pipes.

Inconel 625 Seamless Pipes
UNS N06625 / W.Nr. 2.4856

Inconel 625 Seamless Pipe

Inconel 625 is the nickel-chromium-molybdenum grade with niobium, chosen where pitting, crevice attack, seawater or sulfuric, hydrochloric and phosphoric acids threaten a line. Drawings call it UNS N06625 seamless pipe or seamless WNR 2.4856 pipe. How its two ASTM B444 heat-treatment grades differ is explained on Inconel 625 seamless pipes.

Inconel 718 Seamless Pipes
UNS N07718 / W.Nr. 2.4668

Inconel 718 Seamless Pipe

Inconel 718 places niobium in a nickel-chromium-iron matrix and is precipitation hardened, giving it higher strength minimums than the three annealed grades. ASTM B983 governs UNS N07718 seamless pipe, listed in Europe as seamless WNR 2.4668 pipe, for high-pressure fuel lines and downhole tubing. Supply condition and strength data are on Inconel 718 seamless pipes.

Seamless Inconel Pipe Sizes and Ordering Basis

Pipe items are specified by nominal pipe size and schedule, the basis that B167, B444 and B983 each set for pipe, and B167 adds a nonmandatory appendix, for information only, naming the schedules it regards as regularly available. Items dimensioned by outside diameter and by minimum or average wall thickness are usually better placed with our Inconel seamless tubes, although we also quote pipe to drawing dimensions. For the family as a whole, the outside diameter runs up to 457 mm, the wall up to 65 mm and the cut length up to 18 m, yet the wall ceiling differs between grades, so confirm a heavy-wall item against its grade page before it goes on the order; the quotation then confirms each size. Permitted variations in diameter and wall follow the ASTM B829 tables for cold-worked pipe or for pipe finished hot, depending on how the pipe was made, and every length is cut to the ordered dimension with plain, deburred ends. Random lengths, where a line list allows them, are agreed with you before production.

Industrial Applications of Seamless Inconel Piping

Inconel seamless pipes go into lines that carry heat, oxidizing gas, chlorides or mineral acids for long periods. The sectors below take most of the pipe we quote.

Chemical Processing duty for Inconel seamless pipe

Chemical Processing

Caustic soda and chlorine lines, chlorinated solvent service and acid transfer piping split between two grades: seamless 2.4816 pipe on the caustic side and UNS N06625 seamless pipe for sulfuric, hydrochloric or phosphoric acid.

Oil and Gas duty for Inconel seamless pipe

Oil and Gas

Downhole tubulars, control lines, wellhead and subsea piping use seamless WNR 2.4856 pipe, while sour crude lines from high-pressure wells that need precipitation-hardened strength move to seamless 2.4668 pipe.

Power Generation duty for Inconel seamless pipe

Power Generation

Superheater tubing inside boilers, heat exchanger circuits and flue gas desulfurization systems all draw on the family; the desulfurization side, wet and acidic, is regular work for UNS N06625 seamless pipe.

Marine and Offshore duty for Inconel seamless pipe

Marine and Offshore

Seawater cooling lines and seawater heat exchangers on vessels and platforms run in seamless 2.4856 pipe, and gas turbine exhaust and hot heat exchanger piping offshore take the 601 grade.

Petrochemical and Refining duty for Inconel seamless pipe

Petrochemical and Refining

Distillation units processing sulfur-bearing crude call on the heat and corrosion resistance of the family, while direct-fired heater coils and ammonia reforming lines take the aluminum-bearing 601 grade.

Heat Treating duty for Inconel seamless pipe

Heat Treating

Furnace retorts and muffles built from seamless WNR 2.4816 pipe, and radiant tubes in the 601 grade, stay in service through long heating cycles because 600 resists oxidation and 601 resists scaling.

Aerospace duty for Inconel seamless pipe

Aerospace

Engine ducting, exhaust systems and hydraulic and fuel lines are built in the 625 grade, while gas turbine high-pressure fuel and cooling air lines take UNS N07718 seamless pipe for its hardened strength.

Frequently Asked Questions About Inconel Seamless Pipes

Which ASTM standard should each Inconel grade be ordered to as seamless pipe?

Write the standard next to the UNS number on every line: ASTM B167 for N06600 and N06601, ASTM B444 for N06625 and ASTM B983 for N07718. An ASTM B167 seamless Inconel pipe can also carry ASME SB-167 where the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code applies, while a 718 line reads simply ASTM B983, UNS N07718.

How should each line of a pipe inquiry be written?

State the grade by UNS number, the standard, the nominal pipe size and schedule, the delivery condition, the cut length or a random length range, and the quantity. For 625, add Grade 1 or Grade 2, since the grade fixes both the heat treatment and the strength minimums. We confirm every line before quoting.

Is every pipe length tested, or only a sample from each lot?

Both. Each length is checked on its own: it is either held under internal water pressure or scanned by eddy current or ultrasonic examination, the nondestructive electric methods, and a higher hydrostatic pressure can be agreed on the order. Each heat gets one chemical analysis, and each lot of one heat, size and condition gets one tension test.

Which grade suits a process line, Inconel 600 or Inconel 625?

Let the medium decide. Caustic, alkaline and organic acid streams and chlorinated solvents suit seamless 2.4816 pipe, made to B167. Seawater, chlorides that cause pitting or crevice attack, and sulfuric, hydrochloric or phosphoric acid point to an ASTM B444 seamless Inconel pipe in the 625 grade, whose molybdenum content carries that resistance.

Which certificate arrives with the pipe, and does the grade change it?

Every grade ships with an EN 10204 3.1 (3.2 on request) certificate. For 600 and 601, ASTM B167 itself makes a manufacturer's certification and a test report mandatory, while B444 and B983 leave certification to the order. We issue the same certificate for all four grades, so a mixed shipment carries one consistent set of records.

How far does the size range reach for each Inconel grade?

The family reaches up to 457 mm outside diameter, up to 65 mm wall and cut lengths up to 18 m. The wall ceiling is where the grades part: seamless 2.4856 pipe stops at a thinner maximum wall than the 600, 601 and 718 grades, so heavy-wall items should be checked against the grade before the order is placed.

Which delivery condition does each grade ship in?

The 600 and 601 grades ship annealed, after cold or hot working. The 625 grade ships annealed as Grade 1 or solution annealed as Grade 2. Seamless WNR 2.4668 pipe ships solution annealed plus precipitation hardened, the condition in which seamless 2.4668 pipe reaches its strength minimums. The supplied condition appears on the certificate.
