Each line of SS 310S seamless pipe can be called up as an NPS with a stainless schedule or as a finished OD and wall, and the table sets out what the mill produces and how it is delivered.
ASTM A312 / ASME SA-312 covers austenitic stainless steel pipe for high-temperature and general corrosive service, and TP310S is one of its listed grades. Our ASTM A312 stainless steel 310S seamless pipe is made without welding at any stage of production, then solution annealed and delivered free of scale. Dimensions follow ASME B36.19M, and the standard also accepts the outside diameter and wall thickness on your drawing when every other requirement is met.
Every ASTM A312 TP310S stainless steel seamless pipe receives a hydrostatic test or a nondestructive electric test. Tension tests are taken on one pipe from each lot of up to 100 pipes, and flattening tests on a sample from each lot. Results are recorded on an EN 10204 3.1 (3.2 on request) material test certificate with heat number, chemistry and mechanical values. The document pack can be built around your inspection plan from raw material certificates, 100% PMI records, heat treatment charts, surface roughness and size measurement and a laboratory test certificate from a government-approved lab, with third-party inspection available on request. Intergranular corrosion testing to ASTM A262 Practice E is added when your order calls for it.
Each heat of UNS S31008 seamless pipe is analyzed against the TP310S limits in ASTM A312. Chromium at 24.0 to 26.0% and nickel at 19.0 to 22.0% form the 25-20 base, and molybdenum has a 0.75% maximum with no minimum.

Stainless steel 310S is known by these designations in American, European, ISO, Japanese and Chinese standards.
Within the envelope in the specification table, we make SS 310S seamless pipe to ASME B36.19M schedules or to the OD and wall on your isometric. Where an instrument line or heat exchanger calls for a finished OD and wall rather than an NPS, the grade is also made as 310S seamless tubes.
Furnace, heater and hot-gas lines often run in mid and large bores, so the rows below cover NPS 4 to NPS 30. Nominal wall thickness in mm, per ASTM A312 Table X1.1:

Stainless steel 310S seamless pipe is the low-carbon member of the 310 family. Its 0.08% carbon maximum reduces the risk of sensitization during welding compared with stainless steel 310 seamless pipes, so TP310S is the grade for furnace and heater piping that is welded in the shop or on site.
Where creep and stress rupture strength govern the design, the A312 grade to order is TP310H, which we make as ASTM A312 TP310H seamless pipes.
Furnace, refinery, power and process plants specify seamless 1.4845 stainless steel pipe where hot oxidizing gas and welded fabrication meet on the same line.

Furnace piping and heat-treatment line components run in 310S for continuous service in hot air, supplied with plain or beveled ends prepared to the furnace builder's drawing.

Cracker and reformer furnaces in petrochemical plants, and hot-gas lines in refineries, take TP310S seamless pipe ordered by NPS and schedule to match the heater piping specification.

Boiler-side piping, fluidized bed furnace piping and hot flue-gas connections in power plants use 310S seamless pipe, which resists scaling through continuous high-temperature service.

Hot-end headers and connecting pipework on heat exchangers and boilers run in seamless 310S, with Sch 80S walls available where a header carries pressure as well as heat.

Sintering plants, cement works and ore processing lines in steel plants use seamless 310S for hot-air, burner and off-gas piping that runs at high temperature in an oxidizing atmosphere.

Thermal processing equipment and brazing furnaces use seamless stainless steel 310S pipe for atmosphere and hot-gas lines that see repeated heating and cooling cycles.

Ovens and high-temperature food processing equipment use seamless 310S where heat resistance is needed alongside a polished surface for hygienic duty, with the finish set line by line.

Every 310S stainless steel seamless pipe we sell is pierced, hot rolled (and cold drawn where specified) and annealed at our factory, 154 Moo.1 Map Phai, Ban Bueng, Chonburi 20170, Thailand. Drawings, quotations and order follow-up are handled by our office, 89/18 Moo.15 Enterprize Park, Bangna-Trad Road, Bang Kaeo, Bang Phli, Samut Prakan 10540, Thailand. Shipments go to sites within Thailand and to customers in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and India.
TP310S holds carbon to 0.08% maximum, against up to 0.25% in grade 310, so its welded joints are less prone to sensitization. For hot-gas lines assembled by welding, 310S keeps the same 25-20 chromium-nickel base with the lower carbon. Every 310S stainless steel seamless pipe we ship carries a certificate against the TP310S limits of ASTM A312.
TP310H holds carbon between 0.04 and 0.10% and needs grain size No. 6 or coarser, while TP310S has a 0.08% maximum with no lower limit. Order TP310H when creep and stress rupture govern the design. For welded lines where oxidation resistance is the main duty, specify TP310S.
Hot-finished pipe is supplied pickled and passivated, the typical mill finish, and cold-drawn pipe has a bright finish. Polished surfaces are available for hygienic equipment such as food processing ovens. State the finish for each line item on your inquiry.
No. ASTM A312 sets 0.75% molybdenum as a maximum with no minimum, and 310S is not intended for aqueous corrosion service in chloride environments. Where chloride-bearing water is part of the duty, a molybdenum-alloyed grade such as 316L seamless pipes adds resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion.
For NPS 4 (114.3 mm OD), the OD tolerance is +0.8 / -0.8 mm. The Sch 40S wall of 6.02 mm is more than 5% of the OD, so the wall tolerance is +15.0% / -12.5% of nominal. Cut lengths are held to -0 / +6 mm.
Beyond the hydrostatic or electric test on every length, you can order ASTM A262 Practice E intergranular corrosion testing (S7), product analysis (S1), a transverse tension test on NPS 8 and larger (S2) or flattening on each pipe (S3). Results are added to the EN 10204 3.1 (3.2 on request) certificate.
In UNS S31008 seamless pipe, our range tops out at 1016 mm OD and 65 mm wall and starts at 6 mm OD and 1 mm wall, in single lengths of up to 18 m. Orders can follow ASME B36.19M NPS sizes in Sch 5S, 10S, 40S and 80S, or the OD and wall on your drawing.
