Industrial Furnaces
Burner pipes and other furnace parts that face direct flame are made from 310, which keeps its structural integrity at very high temperatures and stays stable in carburizing and nitriding atmospheres.
ASME B36 / UNS S31000 / W.Nr. 1.4845
Manufactured in Ban Bueng, Chonburi, Thailand, stainless steel 310 seamless pipes from Thaida Stainless Steel Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. are made for furnace, boiler, sintering and refinery lines that run hot in oxidizing gas. Designated UNS S31000 and WNR 1.4845, this 25Cr-20Ni grade is the higher-carbon, heat-resisting member of our stainless steel seamless pipes range. We produce it in NPS sizes and schedules for pressure and process piping, and our office is in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan.

EN 10204 3.1 certificate / 3.2 on request
Match your line list against our production range for SS 310 seamless pipe. Order by NPS and schedule or by OD and wall thickness; the grade is fixed on the order and on the certificate by UNS S31000.
Dimensions follow ASME B36.19M, so each seamless stainless steel 310 pipe is ordered by NPS and schedule like the rest of a process line, while chemistry and properties are those of UNS S31000 in the tables that follow. Where a project specification calls for an ASTM A312 grade, the closest listed grade in the 310 family is TP310S, the low-carbon version; plain 310 is produced to its own UNS S31000 composition. European drawings that name the material by number are supplied as seamless WNR 1.4845 pipe, with the number cross-referenced on the certificate.
Paperwork starts with an EN 10204 3.1 (3.2 on request) material test certificate for every heat. Behind it sit the raw material certificate, heat treatment charts, a 100% PMI record and a report on surface roughness and measured size. When your specification asks for more, flattening, flare, bend, impact, hardness, pitting, grain size, eddy current, ultrasonic and hydrostatic results are added to the manufacturer test certificate, and intergranular corrosion testing follows ASTM A262. Third-party inspection and a government-approved laboratory report are available on request.
Grade 310 combines 24.00 to 26.00% chromium and 19.00 to 22.00% nickel with a carbon limit of 0.25%. Limits are in percent by weight and are reported for each heat on the material test certificate.

Stainless Steel 310 is identified by the following designations in American, European, international (ISO), Japanese, Chinese and Russian standards.
In China the material is also known as 2520 stainless steel.
Seamless stainless steel 310 pipe runs from 6 mm outside diameter up to 1016 mm, in wall thicknesses of 1 mm through 65 mm and lengths of up to 18 m, cut to length on request. The table gives nominal wall in mm for mid and large NPS sizes in stainless schedules to ASME B36.19M.

Small-bore sizes, Schedule 5S and heavier walls within the 65 mm limit are quoted on request. For heat exchanger and instrumentation work ordered by exact OD and wall, our stainless steel 310 seamless tubes are the matching product.
Carbon is what separates the three 25Cr-20Ni grades, and it decides which one belongs in a given line.
| Grade | UNS | Carbon (%) | Typical Choice |
|---|---|---|---|
| 310 | S31000 | 0.25 max | Hot process and structural runs that need higher strength at temperature |
| 310S | S31008 | 0.08 max | Welded assemblies where sensitization during welding must be limited |
| 310H | S31009 | 0.04 to 0.10 | Long-term service where creep and stress rupture properties govern |

For welded high-temperature assemblies, low-carbon 310S seamless pipes reduce the risk of sensitization during welding compared with higher-carbon 310. Where sustained load at temperature makes creep the design case, controlled-carbon 310H seamless pipe keeps the same oxidation resistance as 310 and is intended for service where creep and stress rupture properties are important.
Grade 310 is chosen where pipe runs hot in air, flue gas or furnace atmospheres.

Burner pipes and other furnace parts that face direct flame are made from 310, which keeps its structural integrity at very high temperatures and stays stable in carburizing and nitriding atmospheres.

Seamless 310 lengths form the enclosed heating elements inside fluidized bed furnaces, applying heat without direct flame contact with the product and radiating it reliably over long periods of operation.

In cement kilns and sintering plants, the pipe serves burner shields and discharge systems, handling the dusty, high-heat conditions of turning raw minerals into cement.

Smelters and continuous casting equipment use the pipe to move hot gases and molten material, where it has to cope with the thermal shock of heavy metal melting.

Catalytic recovery systems and flare tips in refineries run on 310 stainless steel seamless pipe, which resists the sulfur-rich, high-heat gases produced during crude oil distillation.

Pulverized coal burners use seamless S31000 stainless steel pipe, and boiler and heat exchanger circuits use it where the pipe carries boiling water and steam without corroding.

At the other end of the scale, 310 keeps its toughness and low magnetic permeability at very low temperatures, so it is used in liquid nitrogen storage and other deep-freeze laboratory equipment.

Stainless Steel 310 seamless pipes are indicatively priced at around USD 5.5 to 9.5 per kg. With 19.00 to 22.00% nickel in the alloy, the nickel price is the main swing factor, followed by size: small-bore and large-OD pipe sit toward the top of the range. Send your NPS, schedule, length and quantity to Thaida for a firm quotation.

Stainless Steel 310 Seamless Pipes are produced at our factory at 154 Moo.1 Map Phai, Ban Bueng, Chonburi 20170, Thailand. Commercial questions, quotations and shipping documents go through our office at 89/18 Moo.15 Enterprize Park, Bangna-Trad Road, Bang Kaeo, Bang Phli, Samut Prakan 10540, Thailand. Each seamless 1.4845 stainless steel pipe order is filled from held stock or from a scheduled production run, and the quotation states which.
When the line runs mainly in hot gas and strength at temperature matters more than weld sensitization, since 310 offers higher strength for demanding high-temperature applications. If the run is heavily welded and its joints will also meet corrosive liquids, the 0.08% carbon limit of 310S is the safer choice, and sustained creep load points to 310H.
The European cross-reference assigns 1.4845 to both 310 and low-carbon 310S, so we confirm the grade before production. Order by UNS S31000 to receive 310: we mark UNS S31000 on every length, and the certificate shows both UNS S31000 and 1.4845.
Yes. Lengths are beveled for butt welding and cut to the dimensions on your isometric, with plain ends for socket joints. Threaded ends are available on Schedule 40S and 80S walls, because Schedule 5S and 10S walls do not permit threading.
The temperature profile, including hold times and startup or idle periods, the atmosphere (air, flue gas, carburizing or nitriding) and any sustained load. Prolonged exposure in the intermediate temperature range can cause sigma phase in 310, and long-term load at temperature may call for 310H instead.
Yes. Any OD and wall pairing from your drawing can be made, provided it sits inside our envelope of 6 to 1016 mm outside diameter and 1 to 65 mm wall, at lengths of 18 m or shorter. Give the OD, wall, length and quantity of each size and we confirm it with the quotation.
Heat number, chemistry against the UNS S31000 limits, and tension results against 515 MPa tensile, 205 MPa yield and 40% elongation, plus the PMI record and any additional tests you ordered. The certificate is issued to EN 10204 3.1 (3.2 on request).
Only weakly. Grade 310 is austenitic with low magnetic permeability, so a magnet is a poor way to check a length on site. Match the heat number stenciled on the pipe to the certificate and its PMI record instead.
