EN 10204 3.1 certificate / 3.2 on request
Every 310 stainless steel seamless tube starts as a heated billet that is pierced into a hollow shell, drawn or rolled cold to its finished size, then solution annealed and pickled. Order each size by OD and wall, marking the wall as minimum or average.
ASTM A213 / ASME SA-213, written for seamless tubes in boilers, superheaters and heat exchangers, lists TP310S (UNS S31008) and TP310H (UNS S31009) from this family, yet it gives plain 310 no row. Each UNS S31000 seamless tube is therefore made to the grade's own heat analysis and annealed tensile limits, shown in the tables below, and it shares the size range of our A213 tubing. Hot gas lines in this grade that are designed around NPS and schedule sizes are better served by our stainless steel 310 seamless pipes.
An EN 10204 3.1 (3.2 on request) material test certificate accompanies every heat of seamless S31000 stainless steel tube. The supporting file holds the raw material certificate, furnace charts from the solution anneal, positive material identification of every tube (100% PMI) and records of dimensional and surface roughness checks. Hydrostatic, eddy current or ultrasonic testing, by the method your specification names, is shown on our manufacturer test certificate, while impact, bend, flattening, flare and hardness tests, intergranular and pitting corrosion tests and a grain size check join the file whenever your order lists them. An independent third-party inspection is available on request for any order.
Chromium of 24.00 to 26.00% paired with nickel of 19.00 to 22.00% gives grade 310 its 25Cr-20Ni balance, while carbon may run as high as 0.25%. Every heat analysis is checked against the following limits.
UNS S31000310
| Element | Grade 310, UNS S31000 (%) |
|---|---|
| C (Carbon) | ≤ 0.25 |
| Mn (Manganese) | ≤ 2.00 |
| Si (Silicon) | ≤ 1.50 |
| P (Phosphorus) | ≤ 0.045 |
| S (Sulfur) | ≤ 0.030 |
| Ni (Nickel) | 19.00 to 22.00 |
| Cr (Chromium) | 24.00 to 26.00 |
Tension test results, taken on tube in the solution-annealed delivery condition, are reported against these minimums.
| Annealed Property | Required Minimum |
|---|---|
| Yield strength | 205 MPa |
| Ultimate tensile strength | 515 MPa |
| Elongation | 40% |
Grade 310 is cross-referenced to the American, European, ISO, Japanese, British and Chinese designations below.
On European drawings WNR 1.4845 also stands for 310S, so a seamless WNR 1.4845 tube order is made as grade 310 when it names UNS S31000 and as 310S when it names UNS S31008. Treat the other entries as cross-references and fix the grade by its UNS number.
Our mill draws stainless steel 310 seamless tubes to any OD in the 6.35 to 257 mm band and any wall in the 0.89 to 12.7 mm band, with straight lengths reaching 22 m. Grade 310 is held to the permitted variations that govern our ASTM A213 seamless tubing, and the rows below cover the small and mid-size ODs used for thermowells, radiant tubes and exchanger bundles.
| Dimension | Cold-Finished Limit |
|---|---|
| OD under 25 mm | +0.1 / -0.11 mm |
| OD 25 to 40 mm inclusive | ±0.15 mm |
| OD over 40 to under 50 mm | ±0.2 mm |
| OD 50 to under 65 mm | ±0.25 mm |
| Minimum wall, OD of 38.1 mm or smaller | +20% / 0 |
| Minimum-wall order, OD above 38.1 mm | +22% / 0 |
| Wall on an average-wall order | ±10% |
| Cut length, OD under 50.8 mm | +3 mm / 0 |
| Cut length, OD 50.8 mm and over | +5 mm / 0 |
Apart from thin-wall sizes and cold-finished sizes smaller than 50.8 mm OD, which carry their own ovality allowances, the OD figures include out-of-roundness and refer to tube as delivered, ahead of any bending, flaring or expanding work. Below 50.8 mm OD, single diameter readings on seamless 310 tube may each sit up to 0.25 mm off nominal at one cross section, so long as the average of those readings meets the table. Heavy walls whose inside diameter does not exceed 60% of the OD take wider wall limits, which we confirm on the quotation. Cut-length limits hold up to 7.3 m; longer cut lengths take a larger plus allowance, which we state on the quotation.
Carbon and silicon set grade 310 apart from TP310S and TP310H, the A213 grades closest to it in chromium and nickel. Grade 310 allows up to 0.25% carbon and 1.50% silicon, whereas TP310S is held to 0.08% carbon and TP310H to 0.04 to 0.10%, both with 1.00% silicon maximum. Lower carbon limits sensitization in weld heat-affected zones, which is why low-carbon 310S seamless tubes suit welded high-temperature tube assemblies. Where creep-rupture strength drives the design, 310H seamless tubes meet the H-grade requirements A213 sets for that purpose.
Seamless 310 is specified wherever a tube wall must face flame, hot flue gas or a furnace atmosphere over long campaigns.

Radiant tubes, muffles and retorts in annealing and heat-treatment furnaces are made from seamless 310, whose 25Cr-20Ni chemistry resists oxidation on the flame side during long furnace campaigns.

Thermowells made from seamless stainless steel 310 tube shield thermocouples that reach into fired heaters and furnace chambers, and we cut each tube to the lengths listed on your instrument drawing.

Recuperators that preheat combustion air with furnace exhaust use seamless 310 on the hot-gas side, where the tube bank meets oxidizing flue gas straight from the furnace outlet.

Steam boilers and high-temperature heat exchangers use seamless 310 as heat-transfer surface, with each tube drawn to the OD and wall tolerances needed for a sound fit in drilled tube sheets.

Power plants use seamless 310 in pulverized coal burner assemblies and coal gasifier internals, where the tube sits close to the flame inside hot, ash-laden combustion zones.

Refineries fit seamless 310 into flare tips and flare burner sections, where the metal sits in or beside an open flame each time gas is relieved to the flare.

Stainless steel 310 seamless tubes carry an indicative price of USD 6 to 10 per kg, and because the alloy contains 19.00 to 22.00% nickel, the tube price follows the nickel market closely; order quantity, OD, wall and length then set where a quotation falls within the band. Send your sizes and quantities for a firm figure.
Indicative only. Send your sizes and specification to Thaida for a firm quotation.
Stainless steel 310 seamless tubes are pierced, cold worked, annealed and given a final inspection at our factory at 154 Moo.1 Map Phai, Ban Bueng, Chonburi 20170, Thailand. Our office at 89/18 Moo.15 Enterprize Park, Bangna-Trad Road, Bang Kaeo, Bang Phli, Samut Prakan 10540, Thailand, is where quotations, tube drawing reviews and export paperwork are prepared. Every seamless 1.4845 stainless steel tube quotation states a delivery date for each size.
The order moves to TP310S or TP310H, and the tube must meet A213 requirements that our grade 310 tables leave out: hardness of 192 HBW, 200 HV or 90 HRB maximum, a product analysis on each heat and a per-tube hydrostatic or nondestructive electric test. The elongation minimum becomes 35%, and TP310H adds grain size 7 or coarser.
Up to 217 HB, the annealed maximum in our grade 310 technical data. Annealed seamless 310 tube is therefore allowed a higher reading than the A213 grades in its family. Hardness is checked only if the order specifies it, and the reading then appears on our manufacturer test certificate next to the tensile values.
Yes. Grade 310 bends, flares and machines readily and can be welded by most standard commercial processes. To prove the tube ends before fabrication, flattening, flare and bend tests can be ordered, with their results added to our manufacturer test certificate.
Yes. Grade 310 keeps its strength and toughness in cryogenic service as well as in furnace heat, so one seamless tube grade can cover both duties. The 40% minimum elongation of annealed tube shows its ductility, and an impact test can be ordered and shown on our manufacturer test certificate if your design needs one.
Yes. The smallest ODs and small lots sit near the top of our USD 6 to 10 per kg indicative band, while heavier furnace and kiln sizes of 50 mm OD and above sit lower.
Yes, up to 22 m in a single straight length, which avoids intermediate butt welds on long runs. Tubes leave the mill reasonably straight with smooth, burr-free ends, and shorter pieces are cut to your drawing.
