Subsea Flowlines and Topside Manifolds
Offshore oil and gas projects run subsea flowlines and topside manifold piping in S32750, where seawater on the outside and chloride-bearing production fluids inside both act on the pipe wall.
ASTM A790 / ASME SA-790 / UNS S32750 / W.Nr. 1.4410
We are Thaida Stainless Steel Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of ASTM A790 UNS S32750 super duplex steel seamless pipes based in Ban Bueng, Chonburi, Thailand, while offers and order documents are drawn up by our staff in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan. Known by the ASTM common name 2507 and as EN 1.4410 in Europe, the grade brings an 800 MPa tensile minimum to our super duplex steel seamless pipes range and is chosen for seawater, offshore and acid process lines.

Every super duplex steel S32750 seamless pipe we make falls inside the size and processing limits below, and each item is quoted by NPS and schedule or by OD and wall, whichever your line list uses.
Our Super Duplex Steel UNS S32750 Seamless Pipes are made to ASTM A790 / ASME SA-790, a specification for pipe in general corrosive service that gives particular weight to stress corrosion cracking resistance. A790 leaves hot finishing or cold finishing to the mill's choice, and either route ends with the heat treatment set for S32750. Hydraulic control lines and exchanger bundles, which are ordered to tube dimensions rather than pipe schedules, belong with our UNS S32750 seamless tubes under ASTM A789.
Hydro or electric testing comes first: each length goes through a hydrostatic test, or through ultrasonic or eddy current examination after the final anneal and straightening, with the method left to us where your order is silent. Each lot then supplies tension specimens, one for 100 pipes or fewer and two above that, flattening samples from 5% of the pipes, and two pipes checked for Brinell or Rockwell hardness. Every ASME SA-790 S32750 seamless pipe in the shipment is covered by an EN 10204 3.1 (3.2 on request) material test certificate that lists these results with the heat analysis, and third-party inspection is available on request.
Composition limits from ASTM A790 / ASME SA-790, %; a lone figure is the upper limit:
UNS S32750S32750
| Element | UNS S32750 (%) |
|---|---|
| C (Carbon) | 0.030 |
| Mn (Manganese) | 1.20 |
| P (Phosphorus) | 0.035 |
| S (Sulfur) | 0.020 |
| Si (Silicon) | 0.80 |
| Ni (Nickel) | 6.0 to 8.0 |
| Cr (Chromium) | 24.0 to 26.0 |
| Mo (Molybdenum) | 3.0 to 5.0 |
| N (Nitrogen) | 0.24 to 0.32 |
| Cu (Copper) | 0.5 |
Beyond the element limits, A790 adds a composition check for this grade: Cr + 3.3 Mo + 16 N must come to at least 41. Copper is held to a maximum, and no tungsten is specified.
| Property | Requirement per ASTM A790 |
|---|---|
| Tensile Strength, min | 800 MPa (116 ksi) |
| Yield Strength, min | 550 MPa (80 ksi) |
| Elongation in 2 in. or 50 mm, min | 15% |
| Hardness, max | 300 HBW or 32 HRC |
A790 sets these minimums for S32750 with no split by wall thickness or size, so a heavy Schedule 80S length must meet the same figures as a thin Schedule 10S one, and one set of design strengths covers every size on the line list.
UNS S32750 is the identity our certificates carry; the names below are how other standard systems refer to the same steel, listed for cross-reference.
UNS S32760 shares the 24.0 to 26.0% chromium and 6.0 to 8.0% nickel ranges and must also reach a pitting index of at least 41, but adds 0.50 to 1.00% each of tungsten and copper and counts tungsten in its formula. S32750 has the higher tensile minimum, 800 MPa against 750 MPa, while S32760 requires 25% elongation against 15%. Where a line class names the tungsten-bearing grade, order UNS S32760 seamless pipes instead.
For lines whose specification accepts a 22Cr duplex grade, our duplex steel UNS S32205 seamless pipes are produced to the same ASTM A790 standard.
The table covers NPS 3 to 8 for mid-bore seawater, process and manifold lines; walls are the ASTM A790 Appendix X1 figures in mm.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | 80 | 88.90 | 3.05 | 5.49 | 7.62 |
| 4 | 100 | 114.30 | 3.05 | 6.02 | 8.56 |
| 6 | 150 | 168.28 | 3.40 | 7.11 | 10.97 |

Nominal wall may run 12.5% under on every size shown. On the plus side, 22.5% is allowed where the wall is 5% of the OD or less and 15.0% where it is heavier. OD may vary 0.8 mm either way on NPS 3 and 4, and +1.6 / -0.8 mm on NPS 6 and 8. Anything between or beyond these sizes, such as seamless 1.4410 super duplex pipe made to a drawing OD and wall, is produced within our 6 to 720 mm OD range.
The grade goes into lines where chlorides and pressure act together and where a lighter wall reduces spool weight.

Offshore oil and gas projects run subsea flowlines and topside manifold piping in S32750, where seawater on the outside and chloride-bearing production fluids inside both act on the pipe wall.

Gas processing lines that carry hydrogen sulfide together with chlorides are built in this grade, and the A790 hardness ceiling of 300 HBW is checked on every production lot before release.

Reverse osmosis plants route high-pressure seawater from the feed pumps to the membrane housings through S32750 pipe, and multi-stage flash units use it in their seawater and brine circuits.

Chemical plants handling strong acids, organic chemicals and chloride-contaminated streams lay transfer and process lines in seamless S32750 super duplex steel pipe, welded into pipe racks and skid packages.

Vessel cooling systems draw seawater through pumps, strainers and coolers, and S32750 piping keeps these compact engine-room runs light while standing up to chloride pitting.

Bleach plants and digesters in pulp mills move chlorine-based bleaching chemicals and hot liquors, and S32750 lines are specified for the chloride-bearing stages of the process.

For project estimates, take super duplex steel S32750 seamless pipe to ASTM A790 at an indicative USD 8 to 14 per kg, the band found in current market quotations. Smaller bores, heavier walls, short quantities and added tests all push the rate per kg up. Firm figures come item by item in our written quotation.
Indicative only. Send your sizes and specification to Thaida for a firm quotation.
All production steps for our Super Duplex Steel UNS S32750 Seamless Pipes, from the pierced billet to the final hydro or electric test, stay under one roof at 154 Moo.1 Map Phai, Ban Bueng, Chonburi 20170, Thailand. From the heat analysis. ASTM A790 requires Cr + 3.3 Mo + 16 N to reach at least 41 for UNS S32750, and the certificate reports the chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen figures needed to recompute it. If your inspector orders product analysis on two pipes from a lot, those results must meet the same chemical requirements.
Yes, by agreement. The standard minimum uses half the 550 MPa yield in P = 2St/D and need not exceed 17.0 MPa at 88.9 mm OD or less, or 19.0 MPa above that. A higher minimum test pressure can be written into the order with our concurrence, which suits projects that prove spools to their own design code.
It removes the under-tolerance. For NPS 3 to 8, nothing under the specified wall is permitted, and the over-tolerance becomes 35.0% where the wall is 5% of the OD or less, or 27.5% on heavier walls. Give the minimum wall in mm on each line, because the schedule walls in our table are nominal or average figures, not minimums.
No deeper than 12.5% of the specified nominal wall or 0.004 in., whichever is greater. Ultrasonic testing follows Practice E213 and eddy current testing Practice E309, and either is run after all mechanical processing, heat treatment and straightening, so a Schedule 80S wall is checked against a proportionally deeper notch than a Schedule 10S wall.
Yes. Pipe with a wall of 3% of the OD or less counts as thin-wall, so its OD tolerance applies to the average of the maximum and minimum diameters measured at one cross-section, and the difference between those two diameters may not exceed 1.5% of the specified OD.
Yes, as a cross-reference. WNR 1.4410 (X2CrNiMoN25-7-4) is the European number for UNS S32750, but our pipe is produced and tested to ASTM A790 / ASME SA-790, and the certificate identifies it by the UNS number. If the drawing also names EN 10216-5, get the project engineer's written acceptance of A790 material with the enquiry.
